Video tutorial: Installing and using plug-ins in Sibelius 7

Tutorials

Philip Rothman at NYC Music Services has put together another interesting and useful video tutorial, following up his recent tutorials concerning the Inspector and Sibelius 7’s advanced text and typography features, this time on the subject of installing and using plug-ins in Sibelius 7.

In addition to the more than 150 plug-ins that ship with Sibelius 7, there are now more than 400 additional plug-ins available for download from the Sibelius web site. Sibelius 7 includes an automatic means to download and install any of these plug-ins directly into the software, so it’s never been easier to try them out. Likewise, you can organise your plug-ins however you like and make them appear on any tab of the ribbon. In this tutorial, Philip walks you through finding a plug-in, installing it, assigning a keyboard shortcut to it, and moving it to whichever ribbon tab you like.

Furthermore, he demonstrates a half dozen plug-ins that are available for download from the Sibelius web site, absolutely free of charge, that could make your use of the software faster and more efficient.

If you enjoy Philip’s tutorials, don’t forget that he’s running an in-person workshop on using Sibelius at the Juilliard School in New York City on Friday 20 July.
