Sound sets for EastWest Quantum Leap Symphonic Orchestra

Tips

Sibelius user Jonathan Loving has been working for several months now on producing sound sets for the EastWest Quantum Leap Symphonic Orchestra sound libraries, and today he has announced that the fruits of his labours are now available for everybody to use.

EWQLSO is one of the leading sound libraries and is famous for its big, Hollywood sound. Jonathan’s sterling work brings the power of this library within the reach of any Sibelius user who has any flavour of EWQLSO, from Silver up to Gold and Platinum; all you need is the most recent Play-based version of the library and Sibelius 5.

The amount of work that has gone into this project is not insubstantial. Mapping each of the sounds in the library onto suitable sound IDs and working out the necessary keyswitches in order to write the sound set itself is one thing, but Jonathan has gone further, providing a dedicated house style file with dedicated percussion instrument definitions and additional playback dictionary terms to make the experience as seamless as possible. All of this is coupled with clear, well-presented documentation.

Great work, Jonathan. The Sibelius user community salutes you!
