Create rehearsal recordings in seconds with new plug-in

Tips

There are now more than 250 plug-ins available for download from the Sibelius web site that make all sorts of tasks quicker and easier. But very few plug-ins are as useful as Bob Zawalich’s latest, Rehearsal Recordings.

I run a choir in my spare time and I use Sibelius to prepare arrangements for them. I use Scorch to put the music online so that the singers can take a look at the music ahead of time, but I also produce audio CDs or MP3 files for them. And that’s where Bob’s plug-in comes in so useful.

With the Rehearsal Recordings plug-in, you can create an audio track for each part in a single operation, with that one part brought forward in the texture (either by half-muting or scaling down the volume of the other staves) and even changing its pan position (so that the principle part is, say, panned left and the accompaniment is panned right, or vice versa). If you don’t need audio tracks for every single part, click the Choose Parts to Export button to add or remove parts from the exported files.

The whole thing takes only a few seconds to set up, and once you click OK the audio files are exported in double-quick time, ready for burning to audio CD or conversion to MP3, so that you can email them to your performers, or put them up on your web site.

That’s all there is to it. Quick, simple, effective, and very, very useful. Download the Rehearsal Recordings plug-in today, absolutely free. Thank you, as always, Bob!

This is going to be so useful! I’ll be sharing it with all the music teachers and conductors I know. Well done Bob!
