Sid Meier’s Civilization V scored in Sibelius

In the world of PC strategy games, Sid Meier‘s Civilization series is the undisputed heavyweight, and the latest incarnation is Civilization V. The video above is the opening cinematic from the game, and it features music by c0-composers Geoff Knorr and Michael Curran, scored in Sibelius.

Geoff  got in touch to say, “Thank you for creating an amazingly powerful, time-saving, efficient musical notation software.”

“I recently worked as a co-composer, along with Michael, and sole orchestrator on Civilization V,” he continued. “I prepared all of the hour and 45 minutes of music recorded with the Prague Filmharmonic using Sibelius 6. I can confidently say that there is no way I could have accomplished the task within the deadline and with such beautiful scores and parts without the tools offered in Sibelius 6.”
