Engela Fullard of Note-So-Easy is offering a unique targeted workshop intended for music instructors. She told me recently that “when I ask music teachers what they would really like to be able to do in Sibelius, I usually get 2 answers: 1) ‘I want to be able to scan in a piece of music so that I can transpose it,’ and 2) ‘I want to be able to set theory papers.'”

To that end, her June 1 workshop topic is “How to set your theory papers using Sibelius only / Sibelius and Microsoft Word.” Engela continued:

Personally I find using Microsoft Word in combination with Sibelius the most “comfortable.” Because one can use automatic (multilevel) numbering in Microsoft Word, one can easily add extra questions and generally it is so easy to format one’s paper.

I will also do an Auralia demo. Very few teachers know this software, which can make their lives so much easier. If time allows I will also show them Musition.

The workshop will take place on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Kenridge Primary School from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm. Registration will begin at 8:30 am. The participation fee is R300. A basic knowledge of Sibelius will be to your advantage, and you are encouraged to bring a laptop, if possible.
