Last September, I posted about a training session being held by Sibelius expert Engela Fullard in Cape Town, South Africa. This coming Saturday, 25 February, Engela is holding a further public training session on Sibelius 7. Here’s what she told me about these latest sessions:

There will be two sessions, a two-and-a-half hour session for beginners in the morning and a two-hour session for intermediate level in the afternoon. I am already expecting at least a dozen for the morning session and eight for the afternoon session. Some attendees are music teachers, some are involved with church choirs, and there will also be a professional viola player. We have set up our music studio with tables and chairs (with lots of access to power for the laptops), as well as a data projector with laptop for demonstration purposes. There will also be Korg NanoKeys available which can be used for flexi-time input. Each person will receive print-outs of complete scores from which they will work, as well as a handy Sibelius shortcut ruler, printed on glossy 300 gm board, which they can slide under their keyboards.

Attendance at the morning session costs R300, the afternoon session costs R200, and if you choose to attend both, the total will be R450. The training takes place at 8 Alkmaar Crescent, and more details are available on Engela’s site. If you attend Engela’s session, do leave a comment here to let everybody know what you thought!

iam a member of malawi defence force staff band, a grade 5 certificate holder with the associated board of the royal schools of music. I know about Sibelius software and how it has simplified music compositions, i use only my pencil, ruler and manuscipt when composing inspection tunes and u can see the labour i have. Only my bandmaster has access to your software. What do i do to get your software since i can not afford it with my salary?

Please please do a Sibelius Training session in New Zealand! (Wellington springs instantly to mind)
