My friend Katie Wardrobe (@katiesw1) got in touch to tell me about a two-day student seminar that will be taking place at the beautiful Trackdown Scoring Stage in the Entertainment Quarter in Moore Park, Sydney this coming January, during the long holiday for high school students. Katie, herself a former Avid employee with years of experience working with Sibelius in education, will be joined by another former Avid employee, Brent Heber, a Pro Tools expert mixer, to give the two keynote presentations, and Katie and Brent will be joined by guest speakers Keith Welsh, Guy Grose and Charlie Chan.
The seminar aims to help high school students prepare for a career in either the music or sound industries. Attendance costs $300 per student, with discounts available for group bookings. More details are available from the Sumsound web site here.
