News

Avid is currently looking into producing a Chinese-language version of Sibelius, and is looking for Chinese-speaking musicians, preferably with good Sibelius knowledge and based in the UK within travelling distance of our London office, to help advise us on matters of terminology and the like.

    Hi,

This sounds like a great plan. However, I do suggest you use Cantonese and Cantonese writing with traditional characters. They are most accessible and professional looking. However, if you do decide to use simplified, please offer the use of traditional as well.

Please be aware that there is a difference in written vernacular Mandarin and written vernacular Cantonese. The latter is preferred.

    Thank You

Avid has chosen to focus on Simplified Chinese for its Chinese-language products, so if we do make a Chinese-language version of Sibelius, it will use the Simplified Chinese character set.
