Last month I posted an interview with Tom Rudolph and Vince Leonard, the authors of the second edition of Hal Leonard’s book, Sibelius: A comprehensive guide to Sibelius music notation software.
Hal Leonard have posted the first five pages of one chapter from the book as a preview. Called Music Education Applications, the chapter details lots of tips and tricks useful for teaching with Sibelius and creating learning materials, including colouring notes, using plug-ins to add note names, simplifying existing music for beginning instrumental students, and more besides.
If you’re interested in picking up this book, check out the samples online. The book is not yet published, but you can sign up to be notified by e.g. Amazon when it is available (click here for UK users, and here for US users).

It looks like the second edition covers Sibelius 4. So users of version 6 should look for the upcoming publication of the third edition, right? Thanks.

No, the first edition covers Sibelius 4, and the second edition covers Sibelius 6.

Thanks. The second edition is out, so it looks like it’s worth investing in.
