Apologies for the lack of posts over the last few weeks. It’s a very busy time at Sibelius HQ, and I just haven’t had the chance to post. A few quick updates:
- Scorch has been a hit in the iPad App Store, with thousands of units sold already, and the app has been consistently ranked in the top 10 music apps in the iPad App Store in several countries since its launch. We’re already up to version 1.0.2, which fixes a few bugs with library management, so if you haven’t updated yet, do so when you get the chance.
- Mac OS X 10.6.8 creates no new problems with Sibelius 6 that we have either found in our own testing or have had reported to us, so if you’ve been waiting to update, there doesn’t appear to be anything to worry about.
- I’ve had lots of correspondence asking about compatibility of Sibelius 6 with the forthcoming OS X 10.7 Lion, which will reportedly be released very soon. Look for official information on the Sibelius web site, but I can say that in our testing so far there is only one serious issue, which affects online registration (though there is a perfectly good workaround, which is to register using your web browser instead). This issue will affect not only Sibelius 6 but all previous versions of Sibelius as well. As things stand, we don’t expect to have to issue any kind of update for Sibelius 6 regarding Lion compatibility.
Hopefully the regular schedule of posting will resume over the next few weeks. In the meantime, if you have any suggestions about what you’d like to see here on the blog, please get in touch.
