This past Friday night, the 2012 Bafta Video Game Awards were handed out in a glitzy event at the Hilton Park Lane Hotel in London, and I’m delighted to report that the score for LA Noire by Simon Hale and Andrew Hale was recognised in the category of Best Original Music. LA Noire has featured on the blog before, as Sibelius was used in the preparation of the score. Simon took the time to drop me a note to thank us for the part Sibelius played in putting the score together, and said, “I certainly couldn’t what I do now in any other way.”
The other nominations in the Best Original Music category in a stellar year for video game music included Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, which was another score that was orchestrated in Sibelius by Alan Steinberger, and recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London last summer, Assassin’s Creed Revelations, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Portal 2, and Deus Ex: Human Revolution.
Many congratulations to Simon and to Andrew on this magnificent award!
