When it comes to learning how to use music notation software such as Sibelius, Finale, and Dorico, there are lots of terrific resources out there — including this very blog.
But for instruction that is tailored specifically to the way you work or the particular topics you need to know about, there’s no substitute for customized, individual tutorial sessions.
Whether you’re just getting started with the software and need a general overview, a more experienced user looking to take your skills to the next level, or an advanced user in need of specific advice, we’ve got you covered.
Booking a session is easy. Simply select an available time and date block; 1- or 2-hour sessions are offered. Sessions are remotely conducted via Zoom, so you can participate from anywhere. Once you book your session, you’ll receive an email prior to your session with details.
For the Dorico sessions, we’re especially fortunate that the instructor is none other than Leo Nicholson. Leo is an expert Dorico user, pianist, engraver and contributor to Scoring Notes. Leo also devised the Notation Express and Notation Express XL Dorico layout and key commands, and programmed the Notation Express and Notation Express XL Stream Deck profiles for Dorico, so he knows the software backwards and forwards.
Don’t take our word for it, though. Leo’s a Steinberg Certified Trainer — and he’s even got the certificate!
I’m the instructor for the Sibelius and Finale sessions. At NYC Music Services, we’ve been providing both group training and individual instruction for more than a decade. In fact, we’re coming up on the 10-year anniversary of our first New York City Sibelius training session — my, how time flies!
So we’re looking forward to seeing you, hopefully soon, in a training session. Head over to Notation Central now to book a time slot.
